Believe

Oh thank god for language.
Thank god for love.
Thank god for heaven,
Or whatever waits above.
Thank god for belonging,
Thank god for breath.
Thank god for this mystery
Ever unfolding before death.
I believe in a number of uncertainties,
Like, one day i will be redeemed,
And that i’m briefly stuck here in between.
I believe in the limits of what i can perceive,
In the absolute of sacred things
Nearly felt but never seen
Oh thank god for questions,
Thank god for pain.
Thank god for the teachers
Who aren’t afraid of change.
Thank god for mercy,
Thank god for time,
Thank god for this body,
Though it’s not quite convinced it’s alive-
I believe in a number of uncertainties,
Like, one day i’ll meet eternity,
And my mother’s there, waiting for me.
I believe light prevails eventually.
And in the absolute of sacred things,
Nearly felt but never seen.
I believe,
And keep in mind
I’ve got no proof on me,
But i believe
Love must be everything.
