Austra’s third studio album displays “a commitment to replace the approaching dystopia” – something that runs through it’s 11 tracks like a message through a stick of rock.
Smart, thoughtful yet immediate electronic sounds play perfectly off a show-stoppingly perfect vocal as opener ‘We Were Alive’ morphs into the more bloopy, brilliant title track. Lead cut ‘Utopia’ stands out furthest, sounding both futuristic and self-aware of what’s to come.
