
Amy Lee Grant, born November 25, 1960, is an American singer-songwriter and musician. She began her career in contemporary Christian music (CCM) and gained recognition in the 1980s with hits such as 'Father's Eyes,' 'El Shaddai,' and 'Angels.' Grant was known as "The Queen of Christian Pop." In the mid-1980s, she expanded her audience and became one of the first CCM artists to crossover into mainstream pop, with successful albums including Unguarded and Lead Me On. In 1986, she achieved her first Billboard Hot 100 number one song in a duet with Peter Cetera titled 'The Next Time I Fall.' Her 1991 album Heart in Motion became her best-selling record, topping the Billboard Christian album chart for 32 weeks and selling five million copies in the United States. Grant was previously married to Christian musician Gary Chapman; after their divorce in 1999, she married country singer Vince Gill in 2000.
