Peter Gene Hernandez, born October 8, 1985, is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, and dancer known professionally as Bruno Mars. He is recognized for his three-octave tenor vocal range, live performances, retro showmanship, and musical versatility. Raised in Honolulu, Mars gained early recognition in Hawaii for his impersonation of Elvis Presley. He moved to Los Angeles in 2003 to pursue a career in music and established his reputation as a songwriter and co-founder of the production team the Smeezingtons. Mars gained prominence as a recording artist following his feature on the US number-one single 'Nothin' on You' by B.o.B in 2009. His first three studio albums—'Doo-Wops & Hooligans' (2010), 'Unorthodox Jukebox' (2012), and '24K Magic' (2016)—achieved both critical and commercial success. The latter album won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. His albums produced multiple international hit singles, including 'Just the Way You Are', 'Grenade', 'The Lazy Song', 'Locked Out of Heaven', 'When I Was Your Man', 'Treasure', '24K Magic', 'That's What I Like', and 'Finesse'. Mars performs with his band, the Hooligans.
