Bryan Guy Adams, born November 5, 1959, is a Canadian singer-songwriter, musician, record producer, and photographer. He has sold between 75 million and over 100 million records and singles worldwide. Adams was the most played artist on Canadian radio in the 2010s and has achieved 25 top 15 singles in Canada, as well as over a dozen in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. He released his eponymous debut album at age 20. Adams gained fame in North America with the 1983 album Cuts Like a Knife, which included the title track and the ballad 'Straight from the Heart,' his first top-ten hit in the United States. His 1984 album Reckless reached number one in Canada and the United States and was the first Canadian album to be certified diamond in Canada. The album produced six charting singles, including 'Run to You' and 'Summer of '69,' both top ten hits, and the power ballad 'Heaven,' which reached number one in the U.S. His 1987 album Into the Fire continued his commercial success.
