Courtney LaPlante, born February 26, 1989, is an American singer and the lead vocalist of the Canadian heavy metal band Spiritbox. She began singing in bands as a teenager after relocating to Canada. LaPlante initially gained recognition as the lead singer of the now-defunct American metalcore band Iwrestledabearonce, where she recorded and performed from 2012 until 2015, succeeding the band's original vocalist. She departed from the group shortly after the release of their second album, Hail Mary, in 2015. In 2016, LaPlante returned to Canada with her bandmate Mike Stringer, whom she married; both have collaborated in her bands. In 2017, LaPlante and Stringer founded Spiritbox, aiming to establish their own creative identity. The band has released two studio albums, Eternal Blue (2021) and Tsunami Sea (2025), along with several extended plays. In 2023, she was included in Loudwire's list of the "10 Best Clean Singers in Metalcore," and in 2025, she was recognized by Vice as one of the "4 Metal Vocalists Who Mastered Both Screaming and Singing."
