Formed in October 2024, Dafties are a grit-pop duo from Wigan, Greater Manchester. In their breakout year, the pair released five singles, a live-recorded track distributed by UK record label Ameritz Music, and their 10-track mixtape Crying Lafter — all within the space of 11 months. Their eagerly anticipated follow-up project, Tea, is due for release in Q3 2026.
Amassing over 150,000 Spotify streams in their first year, Dafties earned support from local, national and international radio, including BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio USA. The duo have built a reputation for raw, intimate live performances across Northern England's music hotspots, recently selling out their first hometown headline show at The Old Courts in Wigan. Hailed by Warrington Worldwide as “Lily Allen meets Sonic Youthˮ Dafties blend metaphor-heavy lyricism, satirical observations and unapologetically honest storytelling with pop hooks, distortion, and deceptively upbeat instrumentals. Having coined the term “grit-popˮ to describe their sound, Dafties draw inspiration from Britain's rich guitar music heritage while carving out a lane of their own.
