Dolly Rebecca Parton, born on January 19, 1946, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, philanthropist, and businesswoman. She released her debut album, Hello, I'm Dolly, in 1967, beginning a career that has spanned over 60 years and produced more than 50 studio albums. Parton is often referred to as the "Queen of Country" and is among the most-honored female country performers. She has received eleven Grammy Awards, three Emmy Awards, nominations for two Academy Awards, a humanitarian honorary Oscar in 2025, six Golden Globe Awards, and a Tony Award. She has sold over 100 million records worldwide, earning numerous gold, platinum, and multi-platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Parton has achieved 25 singles that reached No. 1 on the Billboard country music charts, tying the record for a female artist with Reba McEntire. She also holds the record for 44 career Top 10 country albums and has charted 110 singles over four decades. Her 49th solo studio album, Rockstar (2023), became her highest-charting Billboard 200 album, reaching number three.
