East 17 is an English pop boy band formed in Walthamstow in 1991 by Tony Mortimer, Brian Harvey, John Hendy, and Terry Coldwell. They are known for their 1994 single 'Stay Another Day,' which reached the top of the UK singles chart at Christmas that year. The group released 18 top-20 singles and four top-10 albums during the early to mid-1990s, a period in which they gained popularity partly due to tabloid interest in their 'bad boy' image, contrasting with the more clean-cut style of contemporaries such as Take That. Their musical style combined pop and hip-hop elements, exemplified in songs like 'House of Love' and 'Let It Rain.' East 17 has sold over 18 million albums worldwide, with the British Phonographic Industry certifying sales of 1.8 million albums and 3.4 million singles in the UK. The group has experienced multiple lineup changes, with Coldwell remaining the only constant member. As of the present, the group continues with members Terry Coldwell, Joe Livermore, and Robbie Craig, a former collaborator with Artful Dodger.
