
Per Erik Magnus Grönwall, born on 3 December 1987, is a Swedish singer known for his work in hard rock and heavy metal. He gained prominence after winning the 2009 season of the Swedish Idol television show, receiving multiple standing ovations from the jury. His debut single, 'Higher,' achieved gold status on digital downloads within three days. His self-titled debut album was released ten days after the competition's finale and debuted at number one on the Swedish albums chart, later earning platinum certification. Grönwall has achieved numerous top 40 hits both as a solo artist and as a member of bands. In 2010, he became the lead singer of the rock band H.E.A.T, with whom he released four albums before departing in 2020. In 2018, he portrayed Simon Zealotes in the NBC live production of Jesus Christ Superstar, earning a Grammy nomination for the cast album. In 2022, Grönwall joined the band Skid Row. He left Skid Row in March 2024 to focus on his recovery from leukemia.
