Julian Lage is an American guitarist and composer born on December 25, 1987. He performed at the 2000 Grammy Awards at age 12 and became a faculty member of the Stanford Jazz Workshop at age 15. Lage released his debut album, Sounding Point, in 2009 on EmArcy Records. In 2021, he signed with Blue Note Records and released the albums Squint (2021), View with a Room (2022), The Layers EP (2023), Speak to Me (2024), and Scenes from Above (2026). He teaches ensembles and guitar at The New School's School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York City.
