

Patrick Watson, born October 8, 1979, is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Montreal, Quebec. He has formed a band also named Patrick Watson. His music combines elements of cabaret pop and classical influences with indie rock. His work has been compared to artists such as Rufus Wainwright, Andrew Bird, Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley, and Pink Floyd. Watson's album Close to Paradise received the Polaris Music Prize in 2007. His 2010 song "Je te laisserai des mots" has accumulated over one billion streams on Spotify and is noted as the first French-language song to reach that milestone.
