About Sepultura

Sepultura is a Brazilian heavy metal band formed in Belo Horizonte in 1984 by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera. The band was influential in the development of groove metal, thrash metal, and death metal during the late 1980s and early 1990s, and contributed to the sound of deathrash. Over the years, their style has incorporated elements of alternative metal, world music, nu metal, progressive rock, hardcore punk, and industrial metal. Sepultura is considered part of the second wave of thrash metal from the late 1980s to the early-to-mid-1990s. The band has released fifteen studio albums, beginning with their debut 'Morbid Visions' in 1986, followed by 'Schizophrenia' in 1987. Their third album, 'Beneath the Remains' (1989), marked their international breakthrough after signing with Roadrunner Records in 1988. Subsequent albums, including 'Arise' (1991), 'Chaos A.D.' (1993), and 'Roots' (1996), established their reputation as one of the prominent heavy metal bands of the 1990s.
