
Tei Shi, born Valerie Teicher Barbosa on October 4, 1989, in Argentina, is a Colombian-Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer based in New York City. She released her first singles and music videos in 2013 and performed live for the first time at CMJ. Her debut extended play, Saudade, was released in November 2013. In 2014, she released two singles: "Adder(f)all" and a cover of Beyoncé's "No Angel," and appeared as a guest artist on the track "Holiest" by Glass Animals. Her second extended play, Verde, was released in 2015. Her debut album, Crawl Space, was released on March 31, 2017, followed by her second LP, La Linda, on November 17, 2019. On July 17, 2020, she released the EP Die 4 Ur Love, with a deluxe version issued in December of the same year. On June 16, 2022, she released the single "GRIP," her first release as a fully independent artist.
