VISIBLE CLOAKS

Visible Cloaks are an American electronic musical duo based in Portland, Oregon, consisting of Spencer Doran and Ryan Carlile. The project originated in 2010 as Doran's solo endeavor, focusing on rare groove new age music and ambient music from Japan. Carlile joined the duo in 2014. Their 2017 album Reassemblage, released on RVNG Intl., incorporates influences from new age music, Italian minimalism, and Japanese ambient music. The album received the "Best New Music" designation from Pitchfork and was named an "Album Pick" by AllMusic. Their subsequent release Lex (2017) employed software programs to generate electronic tranquil melodies similar to those on Reassemblage.
