
The Mercury Prize has locked in its 2026 shortlist and ceremony dates
The 2026 shortlist announcement and awards show dates have been confirmed.

Young Fathers are a Scottish progressive hip-hop group formed in Edinburgh in 2008. Their second EP, Tape Two, was released in 2013 and won the Scottish Album of the Year Award. In 2014, they received the Mercury Prize for their debut album Dead. Their second album, White Men Are Black Men Too, followed in 2015. The third album, Cocoa Sugar, was released in 2018 and peaked at number 28 on the UK Albums Chart; it also earned the band their second Scottish Album of the Year Award. Their fourth album, Heavy Heavy, was released in 2023 and earned their third Scottish Album of the Year Award. The band composed the soundtrack for the 2025 horror film 28 Years Later.

The shows will run in March.

The event runs from 18th - 24th March.

Young Fathers have announced a new UK tour.

The new single follows the recent release of tracks 'Tell Somebody', 'I Saw' and 'Geronimo'.

The run of gigs will take place from Monday 30th January to Friday 3rd February.

The trio has also unveiled new in-store live dives throughout the week of their album release.

The full LP will arrive on February 3rd via Nina Tune.
