5 Ways to Fully Enjoy Live Virtual Concerts
Since you’ve found your way here, you are likely preparing for your next live virtual concert…

For someone who loves going to live concerts, you already know that the experience it gives (a.k.a the hassle of going to the venue, the icky sweat that surrounds your entire body and the loud crowd singing every lyric) is something you just can’t replace. However, not all of us have the energy or patience to go through that process every single time (cough introverts cough). But then again, watching our favorite music artists perform our favorite songs is something most of us enjoy, regardless if it’s in person or virtually.
Since you’ve found your way here, you are likely preparing for your next live virtual concert… which is probably just around the corner. Before anything else, make sure to check if you already have everything. The correct streaming services for the virtual concert, a fast internet connection, a device where you’ll watch the concert, and your throat basically.
What Are Live Virtual Concerts?
Live virtual concerts are online performances that you can watch in real time from your phone, laptop, or TV. Instead of going to a physical venue, you join the show through a streaming platform or a special event link. Artists perform on a stage or studio, and the whole concert is broadcast straight to your screen. It's just literally a live concert without the need for traveling, getting ready for hours, or squeezing yourself into a packed crowd. Yep, it's an introvert's dream.
How to Enjoy Live Virtual Concerts
1. Double-check your internet setup at least an hour before the concert.
As we’ve mentioned earlier, fast internet is extremely important for virtual concerts because you’re streaming the concert over the web. If you have a slow internet connection, you will NOT enjoy the concert at all because the video will constantly buffer and the quality of your stream will drop. For you to avoid this, you must test your connection in advance and close any unnecessary apps or devices that might be hogging your bandwidth.
If your current internet connection is really slow even after troubleshooting, it would be great if you can switch to a different WiFi. But if not, consider using a wired connection or moving closer to your router to get the strongest signal possible.
2. Choose the right device.
TV? Laptop? Mobile? It might seem simple, but the device you pick really changes how much fun you have. Watching on a big screen, like a TV or laptop, makes the lights, camera angles, and even the artist’s expressions pop. And if you're using your mobile phone, you might miss these details. Phones are easy, sure, but if you really want to feel like you’re part of the show, go big. Trust us, it makes the whole concert feel way more alive... well that, aside from making sure your internet provider delivers.
3. Set the mood in your space.
The environment you watch in can make or break the experience. While we don't always have access to big home theaters or fancy setups, even small changes can make a huge difference. You can just clear the area and prepare your snacks and drinks (they need to be within reach so you don't miss any scenes). You can also wear your favorite merch and even gather your family or friends to make it feel like a real event.
4. Give yourself a buffer before and after the concert.
Logging in at the exact start time can make you feel rushed or stressed. Clear your schedule at least 30 minutes before the show to settle in, prepare your space, and get into the mood. After the concert, allow a few minutes to relax, reflect, or share your favorite moments. This simple planning can help you make sure that the whole experience feels complete and far more satisfying than rushing everything.
5. Make the night distraction-free.
Small interruptions can actually pull you right out of the moment. There are even instances where someone got so distracted when someone called them that they totally forgot about what they were watching (yep, it's a friend of mine.) So to really get into it, it's actually a good idea to put your phone on Do Not Disturb, mute apps you don't need, and let anyone at home know that you’re “at the concert” and shouldn’t be disturbed. That's the hack.
Make Sure You Enjoy Your Upcoming Live Virtual Concerts
We’ve attended lots of virtual concerts in the past, so we’re pretty sure that if you follow these tips, you will likely have the best time of your life at your next virtual concert. However, we just want to highlight the importance of your internet connection’s quality at the time. You need to make sure it’s fast and stable, otherwise all the other preparations won’t matter. Have lots of fun!
