Could Oasis Be in Line to Make the Next Bond Soundtrack?
Of all the things you probably didn’t expect to ever happen, Oasis making a James Bond theme song has to be up there with them. After splitting up in 2009, Liam and Noel Gallagher were never even expected to be seen on stage again. But now, there’s talk of them being interested in and potentially in contention to make the next 007 soundtrack.

With Bond essentially set to be rebooted with a new actor in place to play the spy, the next film needs a huge act to perform the theme song. Oasis certainly have the pulling power that’s needed to give the next picture a huge boost.

Gallagher Brothers Have Expressed a Desire to Make a Bond Soundtrack

After their recent reunion and tour, Oasis could soon be set to release a new album. If they mark this release with a Bond theme song, it could help generate even more buzz around it. According to a recent report, Amazon MGM has listed the Manchester-based band as its number one choice for the next single.

On top of that, it has been reported that the Gallagher brothers are interested as well. In fact, Noel is known to be a huge fan of the films and has even written songs with the legendary spy in mind in the past. He knows that having his name attached to a Bond film will add to his prestige and put him alongside musical legends including Sir Paul McCartney and Tina Turner.

A Solid Soundtrack is One of the Key Elements of a Bond Film

The Bond series has been so successful over the years because it sticks to a winning formula, and viewers know what to expect. One thing that always generates a lot of hype is the theme song, which tends to be released before the film. This is usually arranged and performed by one of the biggest acts in the music industry at the time, which adds to the excitement involved.

That’s not the only feature that the new Bond will need to include, though. There are various aspects of the film that are expected, and make up the puzzle pieces of a hit 007 outing. Casino Royale was such a hit because it stuck to the facets that make a Bond film, and there are various lessons to be learned.

For example, it had the traditional love interest for Bond, his famous drink, gadgets, fast cars, and, of course, casino games. With titles like roulette and blackjack booming online since the last film’s release, the next title will have to feature one or more of these offerings to appeal to the online casino crowd.

Whether Oasis end up writing the new Bond soundtrack or not could ultimately depend on when the film is released. The new 007 actor hasn’t even been confirmed yet, and that will have to happen before production can start. It may be at least a few more years before the film comes out, and Amazon MGM could decide to shift its focus to another trending artist at that time.
