Outbreak Fest
OUTBREAK FEST
Outbreak is a British hardcore festival that has grown from grassroots beginnings into one of the heavy underground's flagship weekends. It began in 2011 with a single Sheffield show, moved through Leeds, and now centres on Manchester, having taken over rooms including the Bowlers Exhibition Centre and Depot Mayfield, drawing crowds in the thousands for a bill rooted in hardcore punk and its harder, heavier offshoots. What sets it apart is its reach: the festival has hosted both the genre's elder statesmen and the bands carrying it into the mainstream. Code Orange, Cro-Mags, Gorilla Biscuits and Terror have all played, and it staged Turnstile's UK live debut back in 2013. From a teenager's first promotion to a fixture of the international hardcore calendar, it remains very much active.
