
Lily Rose Beatrice Allen, born on 2 May 1985, is an English singer, songwriter, and actress. She began her musical career in 2005 after signing with Regal Recordings and posting vocal recordings on Myspace, which gained airplay on BBC Radio 1. Her debut single, 'Smile', released in 2006, reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and was certified double Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. Her debut album, Alright, Still (2006), received positive reviews, peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart, and sold over 2.6 million copies worldwide. The album earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Alternative Music Album and produced singles including 'LDN' and 'Alfie'. Her second album, It's Not Me, It's You (2009), debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and the Australian ARIA Charts, and featured singles such as 'The Fear', 'Not Fair', and 'Fuck You'. She received the Brit Award for British Female Solo Artist in 2010. Allen has also been recognized with a Brit Award and nominations for a Grammy Award and a Laurence Olivier Award.
