Towa Bird

The Cribs are a British indie rock band formed in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, in 2001. The band consists of twins Gary and Ryan Jarman and their younger brother Ross Jarman. Johnny Marr, formerly of the Smiths, was an official member from 2008 to 2011. The band became active on the concert circuit in 2002 and was initially associated with UK bands such as the Libertines, as part of a British music scene that was seen as a counterpoint to US alternative rock. They had outgrown this label by the time of their third album's success. In 2008, Q magazine described them as "the biggest cult band in the UK." In 2012, they received the Spirit of Independence award at the Q Awards, and later that year, the Outstanding Contribution to Music award at the NME Awards. As of 2017, their last four albums charted in the UK Top 10.
