Shed Seven are an English alternative rock band formed in York in 1990. The original lineup included singer Rick Witter, guitarist and keyboardist Joe Johnson, bassist Tom Gladwin, and drummer Alan Leach. Johnson was later replaced by Paul Banks, and at one point both Johnson and Banks were part of the band. The group achieved 15 Top 40 singles and five Top 40 albums in the UK. They disbanded in 2003 but reformed for a greatest-hits tour in July 2007. The band continued to perform periodically in Britain and released a new studio album, Instant Pleasures, in 2017. Their album A Matter of Time was released on 5 January 2024 and became their first number one album. Later that year, they released Liquid Gold on 27 September, which also debuted at number one on the UK album charts.
