
Zayn Malik, born Zain Javadd Malik on 12 January 1993, is an English singer. He auditioned as a solo contestant for the British television series The X Factor in 2010, and became a member of the boy band One Direction. The group achieved commercial success and became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Malik left the group in March 2015 and signed a solo recording contract with RCA Records. His debut solo album, Mind of Mine (2016), featured the single 'Pillowtalk' and adopted a more alternative R&B style. He became the first British male artist to debut at number one in both the UK and US with his debut single and album. His collaborations include 'I Don't Wanna Live Forever' with Taylor Swift and 'Dusk Till Dawn' with Sia, both of which received international recognition. Malik released his second studio album, Icarus Falls, in 2018, followed by Nobody Is Listening in 2021, and Room Under the Stairs in 2024. His fifth studio album, Konnakol, is scheduled for release on 17 April 2026.
