I was driving on a slow street I had you in the backseat I felt full of the expectation of a baby It happened in slow motion And I just wanted to save you All it was was the difference of a moment When I held you in my arms on the side of the road People stopped their cars to help us An old man gave us his coat To protect us from the rain gently falling I wrapped you in a stranger's coat And with the rain upon our faces I was so glad we were there to feel it On the way to the hospital You ate your candy bought for later I remember the look upon your face Strangely I was grateful It happened in slow motion And I just wanted to save you All it was was the difference of a moment When I held you in my arms on the side of the road
