Severance

You had every chance to

Show me that you cared

But you chose to let go

Because you were scared

You decided to forget how far that we've come

Now the sutures of our love has come undone

You are a runaway

There are mistakes that you've made

That must be brought to attention

You took for granted

The little things I did

To get your love and affection

Please tell me the reason

Why you closed your eyes

Cause I wanted to show you

How hard that I've tried

To keep us from reaching

This place in our life

We shared a common dream

But you turned your back on me

Letting me go

You're letting me go

So open your eyes before you leave

You may be surprised at what you see

One day you'll look back and understand
