
Caroline Elizabeth Polachek, born June 20, 1985, is an American singer, producer, and songwriter. She co-founded the indie pop band Chairlift while studying at the University of Colorado Boulder. The band gained recognition with the song 'Bruises' and was part of the Brooklyn music scene in the late 2000s. Chairlift disbanded in 2017, after which Polachek pursued a solo career. Her solo projects include 'Arcadia' under the moniker Ramona Lisa and 'Drawing the Target Around the Arrow' released in 2017. Her 2019 album 'Pang' received critical acclaim and featured the viral single 'So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings.' In 2023, she released the album 'Desire, I Want To Turn Into You,' which charted in multiple territories and was nominated for Best Engineered Album at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards. Polachek has collaborated with artists such as Blood Orange, Fischerspooner, Charli XCX, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Flume. She has also written material for Beyoncé and Travis Scott.
