Karen Lee Orzolek, born November 22, 1978, is an American singer and songwriter known as the lead vocalist of the indie rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs. She was a prominent figure in the 2000s garage rock and post-punk revivals and was associated with the New York music scene. She is recognized for her energetic performances, distinctive singing style, and eccentric fashion. With Yeah Yeah Yeahs, she received nominations for five Grammy Awards. Her solo work earned her three additional Grammy nominations, along with nominations for an Academy Award, three Critics' Choice Awards, and a Golden Globe Award. She appeared three times on NME's Cool List from 2002 to 2006 and was included among Rolling Stone's "200 Greatest Singers of All Time" in 2023.
