
Tate McRae is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and dancer born on July 1, 2003. She gained initial recognition as a contestant on the television series So You Think You Can Dance in 2016. She signed with RCA Records and released the extended plays All the Things I Never Said in 2020 and Too Young to Be Sad in 2021. The latter became the most streamed female EP of 2021 on Spotify and included her first US Billboard Hot 100 entry with the single "You Broke Me First." In 2022, McRae released her debut studio album, I Used to Think I Could Fly, which reached number three on the Canadian music charts and featured the single "She's All I Wanna Be." Her second studio album, Think Later, was released in 2023 and marked a shift toward a more pop-oriented sound; it included the multi-platinum single "Greedy." In 2025, she released her third studio album, So Close to What, which topped the US Billboard 200 and produced the global top-ten hits "Sports Car," "Revolving Door," and "Tit for Tat." McRae is based in the United States.
