The band announced an indefinite hiatus after Australian tour dates in 2012, which Rickly later confirmed as a full disbandment. Thursday reunited in 2016, toured for several years, and broke up again in 2019. In 2020, the band announced another reunion, performing at Chicago's Riot Fest in 2021. In 2024, they released 'Application for Release From the Dream,' their first new song in 13 years.
