I think I was interested in drag the moment it was introduced to me I remember being twelve years old and not being able to sleep In the middle of my mundane channel surf RuPaul's Drag Race caught my attention With its bright colors and RuPaul's cackle I wasn't sure what I was watching, but I knew I was intrigued Empowered Everything that that word represents is how drag makes me feel Also a little sexy too Advice I would give to young black kids when it comes to Expressing their identity is just do it, and do it wholeheartedly Don't allow others to make you feel other You already know that unfortunately your skin makes you stand out So why not just lean into that And lean into what makes you an individual And stand up
