Communion

You said that I was religious 'Cause I hate Halloween I thought you read too much into it But now I see what you mean Why do I love Philip Larkin? He would've hated me I think our outlook is in common Unfortunately

But I had the nicest dress in class for my communion I've always tried to be the prettiest and the best I didn't know what money had to do with it And I feel like growing old is just a test

I've been changing my profession In my head every week I'm too old to dance for a living My indecision is bleak I'm never gonna own a house Or impress my family Shit happens and I'm still here Unfortunately

But I had the nicest dress in class for my communion And I've always tried to be the prettiest and the best I didn't know what money had to do with it And I feel like growing old is just a test

I wish I wasn't everything I hate Slice me up and serve me on God's plate I'll always be descending from that high Where do they serve the Eucharist on Friday nights?

I had the nicest dress in class for my communion I've always tried to be the prettiest and the best I didn't know what money had to do with it And I feel like growing old is just— I feel like growing old is just a test
