Rainfall

From All The Flowers Have Bloomed2025

Lyrics

Rainfall

2015 I nearly died

Looked the brudda in his eyes

Told him if you're gonna do it, do it

I was full of pride

Thank God he let it slide

Coulda seen my mother cry

Coulda gotten 25

Just another brother's life

Cas came and blessed the beef

On a south London street

I was doing uni then

I was probably 23

Just another wannabe

What you sow is what you reap

Smiling on the outside

But I was crying underneath

2020 Christmas eve

Swear down it wasn't me

Had a mental breakdown

Something you don't wanna see

Knowing that I had a gift

I ain't talking duty free

Brothers like a pack of sharks

Probably should of let it be

Wasn't tryna leave a scar

Blood is what they wanna see

Mothеr used to speak her mind

Hoping that hеr son achieved

To hear your son is dead and gone

Is something you don't wanna read

But I was fully on the grind

Tryna make some honest p's

My family looking at me like a cheque

How'm I supposed to feel?

Guess this was the life I kinda chose

So imma keep it real

Chicks looking at me like a cheque

How'm I supposed to feel?

They ain't even showed me my respect

Lemme close this deal

I hate the feeling that my worth

Was in what I made

Lately it's been having me disturbed

It's another day

Couple times it coulda took a turn

That's a close escape

Been a minute since I hit the church

I know I need to pray

Long time since we was on the curb

Tryna find a way

A man really only has his word and his father's name

This boy said my music saved his life

Don't know what to say

Days passed made it through the stress

Now it's brighter days

Times when I was at my worst at my mother's place

Seems like they was getting theirs mine was coming late

Whether you was second or your first

It's another race

Just know when you plant the seeds

Don't forget the rain
