Appleton have shared ‘Ready To Begin’ and announced their first new EP in over 20 years
The EP follows January’s comeback single ‘Falling Into You’.

Appleton have announced a new EP, ‘Side By Side’, due for release on 4th September.
The announcement arrives alongside new single ‘Ready To Begin’, written by Natalie and Nicole Appleton with Shadowhands, who previously produced the duo’s 2002 hit ‘Fantasy’.
“‘Ready To Begin’ perfectly sums up how we feel right now,” says Natalie. “When we started writing together again there was no grand plan. We just wanted to have fun and see where it took us. Suddenly we found ourselves making new music, performing live again and remembering why we loved doing this in the first place.”
‘Side By Side’ marks the sisters’ first new body of work as Appleton in more than two decades. The EP follows January’s comeback single ‘Falling Into You’, which became an A-list record at BBC Radio 2 and was later performed as part of the station’s Piano Room series with the BBC Concert Orchestra.
Nicole adds: “The reaction to ‘Falling Into You’ and our first Appleton show in over twenty years has been incredible. We feel so grateful that people still connect with these songs and are excited about what we're doing now. This EP feels like the natural next chapter.”
The release follows Appleton’s recent return to the live stage, including an appearance at Mighty Hoopla last weekend, where they were joined by former Sugababes member Heidi Range for performances of ‘Round Round’ and ‘Pure Shores’.
