Ella Eyre has dropped new single ‘Space’ ahead of her upcoming second album

Singer Ella Eyre releases new single ‘Space’ and announces her second album ‘everything, in time’, coming this November.

Artists: Ella Eyre

Ella Eyre is teasing her second studio album ‘everything, in time’, set for release on 21st November via Play It Again Sam, with new single ‘space’.

The new track showcases Eyre’s soul and R&B influences, marking a shift in direction for the London-born artist. “‘Space’ is about reaching your limits and drawing a line with humorous, but deadly-serious intentions,” Eyre explains. “I had so much fun when I wrote this song because I was so done with an unwanted situation that it had actually become amusing. I wanted to create as much distance as possible for myself to heal, and even outer space didn’t seem far away enough. Sometimes you can only laugh about something hard – or write a savage song about it.”

‘everything, in time’ follows Eyre’s debut album ‘Feline’, released a decade ago, and features previously released singles ‘high on the internet’ featuring Jay Prince, ‘domino szn’, and ‘kintsugi’. The 15-track collection emerged following significant changes in Eyre’s career, including vocal surgery during lockdown and parting ways with her former label.

“There was a moment when I just said, ‘This doesn’t feel right – scrap it all,'” she recalls of an earlier version of the album. “It keeps me up at night. But this album feels like something I’m really proud of. And the biggest cliches are sometimes the deepest truths: Good things come to those who wait. And even though it’s taken a long time to get to this place, I’m really proud of where I’m at.”
