Everyone Says Hi, the new band fronted by ex-Kaiser Chiefs songwriter and drummer Nick Hodgson, have shared their latest track 'On The Same Side'.
The song - originally written for Liam Gallagher, but ultimately rejected - is taken from the band's forthcoming self-titled debut album, set for release on 31st January 2025 via Chrysalis Records.
Hodgson says: "This is the oldest song on the album. Justin Parker (Video Games – Lana Del Rey) was asked to write something for Liam Gallagher and he asked me to collaborate. We wrote On The Same Side one day and we were feeling really good about it, we could picture Liam singing it in its full anthemic glory. He turned it down because he didn't want songs written by a Kaiser Chief. I'm really pleased how it turned out though, definitely Liam's loss and our gain."
He adds: "It feels weird that its coming out a couple of weeks after Oasis announced the reunion. The lyrics are about feuds and making up. Justin and I were trying to write broader lyrics about reunion but we kept coming back to Liam and Noel!"
The track has already been featured in the BBC's coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The band have a UK headline tour in October:

October
21 Thekla, Bristol
22 Heartbreakers, Southampton
24 Oslo, London
25 The Deaf Institute, Manchester
27 Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
28 McChuills, Glasgow
