IDER are teasing an upcoming project and poking fun at millennial softboys with new single 'You Don't Know How to Drive'

IDER have released their new single 'You Don't Know How to Drive'.

The track follows their previous singles 'Unlearn' and 'Girl', signalling a new direction for the British duo, and also an upcoming as-yet-unannounced new project.

Megan Markwick and Lily Somerville, who make up IDER, have been working on their sound in the Welsh countryside with producer Dann Hume, known for his work with Laura Mvula, Troye Sivan, and Tkay Maidza. Their new single is accompanied by a music video directed by Lewis Knaggs, featuring the duo performing in a convertible on an abandoned airfield.

The band share the inspiration behind the song, saying, "You Don't Know How to Drive is about the many stereotypical situations and character traits surrounding a millennial softboy. Inspired by stories shared with friends and the beam_me_up_softboi Instagram account, we wanted to write a funny, tongue-in-cheek song, directed at no one in particular unless you're a legend in your own bedroom and love to talk about your solo EP."
