Katie Gregson-MacLeod has reimagined her viral hit, ‘Complex’

The fully-produced demo rework is available now via Columbia Records.

Katie Gregson-MacLeod has released ‘Complex’, an enhanced reworking of her viral hit which dominated social media platforms within weeks of its initial release.

The original version of the track, ’complex (demo)’, quickly obtained TikTok virality and received cover renditions from Camila Cabello, Madison Beer, and other forefront-leading artists.

Both versions of this tale of unrequited love follow Katie’s previous single ‘Second Single Bed’ and her 2021 debut EP, ‘Games I Play’.

Speaking on the track, Katie shares: “It was really important to me to release the song in its rawest form, hence the demo release on the 26th of August, but beyond that, I also wanted to see where else the song could be taken. When the opportunity arose to work with Greg Kurstin I couldn’t believe it and working with him was something that even seven weeks ago I never would’ve imagined to be on the cards.”

Kurstin produced the new version of the track, utilising the experience gained from working alongside artists like Paul McCartney, Adele, and Maggie Rogers.
