King Isis has shared her new single ‘Lately’ ahead of June’s EP release

King Isis releases emotional new single ‘Lately’, co-produced with Bartees Strange, ahead of their upcoming EP ‘SIRENITY’ in June.

Artists: King Isis

King Isis has shared new single ‘LATELY’, taken from their forthcoming EP ‘SIRENITY’, set for release via Dirty Hit and No Matter in June.

The new track, co-produced with Bartees Strange, follows recent single ‘PERMANENTLY BROKEN’ and showcases another side to the Oakland-born artist’s sound.

“‘Lately’ is a cathartic release. The recognition that perfection doesn’t exist, that I don’t want to keep going through the motions and acceding to the same things,” King Isis explain. “It’s sick of the same cycles, the same people and the same responses. It’s wanting to stand up for myself, wanting to live for me, even if it defies others expectations. It’s the introduction to new worlds, and new unknowns, allowing myself to the beauty of imperfection, of trial and error. That it’s okay to not be okay and try things. Its renewal and cyclic changes at the beginning of Saturn return.”

‘SIRENITY’ follows King Isis’s 2024 release ‘shed’ and their 2023 debut EP ‘scales’. The new project features collaborations with Bartees Strange, Monte Booker, Greyskiin and Estelle Allen.
