Lexie Carroll has shared a new single, ‘annual birthday cry’.

The new song was released today, October 26th, via Seven Four Seven Six. It follows a year of numerous releases, the most significant being her second EP, ‘when the sun came up’.

Now approaching her 18th birthday, Lexie expresses her fear of growing up in a confusing world.

“I wrote ‘annual birthday cry’ just after I turned seventeen,” she explains. “I was feeling overwhelmed with growing up in a world that feels so dark and unsafe. I guess I’ve always just thought ‘oh when I’m older I’ll have this figured out’ and then each year goes by and I still have absolutely no clue how to be a human being! The song is a brain dump of all of my fears, and it’s not the happiest thing I’ve made but I think I just needed to get it all out.”

Lexie will play a headline show at London’s The Grace on December 7th – tickets are available here.
