The 1975’s Matty Healy turned up to support Phoebe Bridgers in LA, and brought some unreleased songs with him

Maybe on is cored ‘New York’? He also played ‘Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America’ with Phoebe.

And this is how it starts…

Matty Healy gave fans attending Phoebe Bridgers‘ date at LA’s Greek Theatre last night a bit of a shock, when The 1975‘s frontman appeared as an unannounced surprise opening act.

And yes, Dear Reader, he played some unreleased songs – one of which was apparently introduced as ‘New York’.

He also dueted with Phoebe to perform ‘Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America’ together, plus played ‘Be My Mistake’, and “emo classic” ‘Sex’.

We know The 1975 have been working on a new album of late, on top of all that talk of an album from their pre-numbers-band guise Drive Like I Do. Let’s just keep our eyes open, eh? Things are happening. We can feel it in our waters.
