Maya Hawke has shared a new single, ‘Luna Moth’, ahead of her second album, ‘MOSS’

The album is due to drop in full on Friday (23rd September) via Mom+Pop.

Maya Hawke has released ‘Luna Moth’, the third single to be taken from her imminent sophomore record, ‘MOSS’.

The new song follows lead single ‘Thérèse’ and its follow-up, ‘Sweet Tooth’. The record will be released in full on Friday, 23rd September, via Mom+Pop.

The vulnerable track explores an intimate tale of damaged beings and social perception, but Maya Hawke explains that despite the personal tone of the track, the origin of this story was not her own mind.

“It was collected from a teacher I had in high school who told me a story of breaking a girl’s heart by killing a beautiful moth on her bathroom floor,” she recalls. “I wanted to find a way of describing how you can ruin everything without thinking. A mistake can break a heart and breaking someone else’s heart can break your own.”
