My First Time have shared their debut EP, soundtracking the dread of growing up

London four-piece My First Time have put out their first body of work, a self-titled EP featuring four tracks that tackle themes of youth disillusionment, escapism and socio-political frustration.

Sitting alongside previously released singles 'Picture Of Health' and 'Celebrity', the EP also includes 'The Kids Are' and 'Wellington Boots'. Arriving with the record is a new video for 'The Kids Are', directed by Buffy Dunton and James Worsley.

Speaking about what the project represents, lead singer Isaac-Stroud Allen explained: "My First Time represents the first painful encounter with adulthood. The frightening realisation of the mundane and mediocre life that may await you. Denial, met with an inescapable need to feel wanted, are your only true remedies. When everyone tells you that these are the best years of your life, but all you truly want to do is escape them. This EP examines the dull thump of reality and the futile pursuit of success, love and fame. A world where you're desperate for the chalice to overflow, but instead you're left with only the gruel."

Having performed at Trans Musicales in Rennes last December and supported SOFY on a UK headline tour, My First Time now head out on their own April headline run.
