Isle of Wight newcomer Rhain has dropped a quirky gem in the form of ‘Solid Gold’.

The new track sees her showcase her knack for addictive alt-pop, perfect for dancing away the summer. “I think it’s quite common to start writing a song without really knowing what it is going to be about,” she says.

“It was a really hot day when I began the verse for this and I was thinking about the stagnant air trapped in-between the terraced houses that line our little street. ‘Solid Gold’ I guess is about noticing the lethargic pace of the everyday and trying to escape its clutches.”

“I’m good friends with a band called Plastic Mermaids who are also from the Isle of Wight, so we end up playing together quite a lot. They’ve been key in helping me develop this track into something that I’m really proud of. We should hopefully get to play a few festivals together this summer. It’s so much fun to play with a full band.”
