Savages drummer Fay Milton has announced a new album, 'Goddess', featuring Elena Tonra and more

Goddess, a new collaborative project curated and produced by Fay Milton of Savages, have announced their self-titled debut album 'Goddess', set for release on 30th May via Bella Union.

The project has shared their first single 'Shadows', featuring vocals from Elena Tonra (Ex:Re / Daughter), alongside Hinako Omori on piano and Ayse Hassan (Savages) on bass guitar.

"What I love about this track is that it's got this darkness and lightness at the same time. It's got this real thunder and lightning energy. There's a sparkly piano, very light and delicate, and then this noise bass that runs through it. Elena's vocal is just completely exquisite, as well as her lyrics," says Milton.

The ten-track album features a rotating cast of female and non-binary vocalists, including Shingai, Delilah Holliday, Salvia, Shadow Stevie, Isabel Muñoz-Newsome, Bess Atwell, Izzy Bee Phillips, Grove, and Harriet Rock.

"With this project, I have come out from behind the drums and stepped into the producer role, allowing the feminine energy to run strong from the start to the finish of the creative process," Milton explains. "The idea of Goddess stems from the curiosity of what happens when you bring creative spirits together in interesting new combinations."

The project emerged following Savages' hiatus, with Milton collaborating with former bandmate Ayse Hassan. The album encompasses various genres, including post-punk, electronica, dream-pop, and indie-rock.

Goddess will perform live at Rough Trade East, London, on 3rd June, featuring appearances from Izzy Bee Phillips (Black Honey), Harriet Rock, Shadow Stevie, and Isabel Muñoz-Newsome (Pumarosa).
