Sylvan Esso have announced their first album in four years, 'Ow ∞', due for release on 11th September via their own label, Psychic Hotline.
Alongside the announcement, the duo have shared second single 'Concrete Glen', which weaves a sample of Sigur Rós' 'Svefn-g-englar' into a hazy tale of a surreal night out. Produced by Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn, the album was written over almost two years and marks the longest they've ever spent making a record.
"If you're going to keep participating in the world, and in your life, you have to commit to being hurt," says Meath. "If you aren't putting yourself in the way of potential hurt, you miss out on a lot of potential opportunities. So in some ways it's like a rallying cry, saying, 'I'm gonna get hurt forever, and that's okay.'"
Ahead of the album's release, Sylvan Esso will host a series of global listening events on 3rd September, including stops in London and Dublin, before returning to the UK later that month for in-store performances in Brighton and London.
