The end of the world comes to town in Declan McKenna’s new video for ‘Rapture’
Talk about things kicking off eh?!

Declan McKenna has given a glimpse into how the world is surely going to crumble apart in a matter of no time - with his new video for ‘Rapture’.
Featuring our Dec knocking about in your usual cul-de-sac, things turn upside down as the devil comes to play and brings what appears to be zombies, smoke, news crews, preachers and dance routines all come to the fore. It’s exactly how we see the end of the world playing out tbh…
Talking about the track itself, Deccers said: “Rapture - though it seems to touch on the current state of the world - was born early last year, and reflects some of my thoughts on the end of the world and the threats that humanity will face in the future, and on common fears for the future. The problem we face now seems to be that for each common fear there is a contrasting view that at least appears to have wide support, I guess my worry now is how such huge numbers of people can move forward without unity under immediate threat. The new music video isn’t the most serious in concept, for a song based around the end of the world in times so hard for not just myself but all those involved in making it, we had to seek some joy and humour… and we had to shoot outside in the cold.”
Chilly times, but the mullet remains intact!
Declan McKenna released his bloody ace second album ‘Zeroes’ earlier in the year - and featured on the cover of this ‘ol here magazine! You can check out that feature cover chat here, and look ahead to Declan returning to the live stage in 2021.
