White Lung and PUP have made the Polaris Music Prize short list
As have Grimes and Carly Rae Jepsen.
The short list has been unveiled for this year’s Polaris Music Prize, the Canadian equivalent of the Mercury.
The new shorter list of nominees follows and earlier long list that included Dilly Dally, Drake, Grimes, the Weeknd, Carly Rae Jepsen, Justin Bieber, Peaches, Destroyer, PUP, White Lung, and loads more.
Well, both White Lung (pictured) and PUP are still in the running, as are Grimes and Carly Rae Jepsen. The short list is as follows:
Black Mountain - IV
Basia Bulat - Good Advice
Grimes - Art Angels
Carly Rae Jepsen - E•MO•TION
Kaytranada - 99.9%
Jessy Lanza - Oh No
PUP - The Dream Is Over
Andy Shauf - The Party
U.S. Girls - Half Free
White Lung - Paradise
The winner will be announced on 19th September. Last year’s prize was won by Buffy Sainte-Marie’s ‘Power in the Blood’.
