About Avey Tare
David Michael Portner, born April 24, 1979, is an American musician and songwriter known by the moniker Avey Tare. He co-founded the experimental pop band Animal Collective. He has released four solo albums and four collaborative albums with Noah Lennox, also known as Panda Bear, three of which were later classified under Animal Collective's discography.
