About Dead Pony
Dead Pony is a Scottish pop-punk band from Glasgow that was formed in 2015. The band was initially a duo consisting of Anna Shields and Blair Crichton, who formed the group with three university classmates under the name Crystal. In 2017, Shields and Crichton expanded the lineup to include Lizzie Reid and Aidan McAllister, releasing several singles as Crystal before Reid was replaced by Liam Adams. The band changed its name to Dead Pony in 2020. Following the addition of Euan Lyons, who replaced McAllister, Dead Pony released the EP War Boys and the album Ignore This, which reached number eight on the Scottish Album Charts. Their musical influences include Kathleen Hanna, Hayley Williams, Nirvana, the Breeders, Wolf Alice, Fleetwood Mac, Courtney Barnett, N.E.R.D., Justin Timberlake, Limp Bizkit, and the Prodigy. Their sound has been described as a blend of pop-punk, nu metal, and rock.
The six-track project lands next month, backed by a UK headline tour.
