Symere Bysil Woods, born on July 31, 1994 or 1995, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter known professionally as Lil Uzi Vert. They are recognized for their eclectic fashion style and genre-blending music. Raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lil Uzi Vert gained initial recognition with the release of the mixtape Luv Is Rage in 2015, which led to a recording contract with Atlantic Records under DJ Drama's Generation Now imprint. Their 2016 debut single "Money Longer" attracted mainstream attention and served as the lead single for their third mixtape, Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World. The mixtape included "You Was Right," which became their first Billboard Hot 100-top 40 single. Following the release of additional mixtapes and an EP, Lil Uzi Vert appeared as a guest on Migos' 2016 single "Bad and Boujee," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. They achieved their first top ten single as a lead artist with "XO Tour Llif3" in 2017, which received the MTV Video Music Award for Song of Summer.
